Medical Data Integration (from your MIS)

This can provide staff with point of use visibility to key medical information for the pupils in their team/activity/music lesson/tuition lesson.

Co-curricular register:

In the above example there is no data for 'Notes' but something that might have been entered could be:

What your school records in the corresponding data fields might be something to review with your administrative or medical team (whoever is responsible for adding the medical information to the MIS).

Without this data integration staff would need to spend time searching for all the pupils in the MIS to learn about their key medical needs. This data integration will make this essential process more time efficient for your staff.

Alternative practice without this data integration is for staff taking a sport team or activity to download (or print) whole year group lists of medical information. This can be unsatisfactory for several reasons:

• once downloaded the data can become out of date (especially as the information might be updated irregularly by parents)
• medical information for pupils not involved in the team or activity is included
• downloaded files can be insecure
• paper copies can be misplaced.
