SOCS co-curricular: Information for Pupils

This help page explains how to login to SOCS co-curriucular and also how to sign up for clubs/activities.  

How to login

Please follow the instructions here to log in.

Note: If your school has set up Single Sign On, you will be taken to your school's page login (e.g. Microsoft, Google, Firefly) where you can log in. Once you have entered your login credentials, you will be logged into SOCS.

How to sign up for activities

Once you have logged in you can view a list of clubs available to you and sign up to them (providing the sign-up window is open).

Click the ‘My Calendar’ tab to view your SOCS timetable which will include co-curricular clubs that you have been added to/signed up to. If the school also uses SOCS sport then your fixtures will also appear in this timetable. You may also be able to view your academic timetable here if the school have set up the sync.

Click the ‘Activities’ tab to see a list of clubs available to sign up to. If the sign-up window is switched on, you will also be able to click ‘Add’ next to the clubs and sign up. Once you have successfully added the club, there will be a notice next to the club that says ‘added’. The club will also appear in your SOCS calendar.

• Invite Only - some clubs may not allow pupils to sign up – only staff are able to add pupils to these activities.
• Parental Authorisation – only parents using parent login can sign up to these clubs during a sign-up window.
• Full - if a club has 'Full' next to it, this club is no longer available to sign up to as it has reached the maximum pupil capacity. 

The school may have set some clubs up on a preference basis. If so, you will need to click ‘Set Preferences’.  Once you have set your preferences and the sign-up has closed, the school will endeavour to award as many first choice clubs to pupils as possible, followed by second choice, and so on. Updating your password

When you are logged in, you are able to change your password by clicking on ‘Settings’. Update your password on the My Details & Settings page (see the screenshot below).

 

Syncing the calendar

You can iCal sync to your clubs and fixtures calendar. This will sync your personal calendar (e.g. Google or Outlook) to your SOCS calendar, and provide you with a live feed of clubs and fixtures. Any changes made to a club or fixture will then update your personal calendar.

To do this you need to:

• Log into SOCS
• Click on the "Calendar Sync" button
• Click on the WebCal link that is automatically created by SOCS
• Follow the on screen instructions

This will create a live feed of clubs and fixtures in your personal calendar.

 

SOCS Web App

If you are viewing the system on a mobile device you can save it to your phone home screen as a Web App.
